Amish Sugar Cookies
(melt in your mouth, tender and yummy)
1 cup white sugar
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup oil
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tarter
4¼ cups flour
Cream sugars and butter.
Add eggs, oil and vanilla, beat until fluffy.
Add dry ingredients.
Chill 4 hours.
Roll into balls and flatten with glass dipped in sugar.
Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes. Don't let them brown.
~ Perfect for holidays, tint the dough, use colored sugar.
~ Lemon or almond extract can be exchanged for vanilla.
~ As delicious as they are simple.
