Supper Chowder

In a dutch oven, mix together:

6 slices bacon, fried and crumbled
1 large onion and 1cup celery, diced and sautéed
1 cup carrots and 1 cup potatoes, diced and boiled until tender
4 Tblsp. butter or bacon drippings
1 - 1 lb. can of cream style corn
1 can cream of chicken soup
2 ½ cups milk
salt and pepper to taste

Simmer 30 to 40 minutes. Serves 6

Notes:

-can use bits of ham instead of bacon
-I use the already cooked bacon that I stash when it’s on sale!
-If I’m in a hurry, I cheat and put the carrots, onions, potatoes and celery all in the pot, with a cup of water and cook them all together until tender. It does sacrifice a little flavor, but it’s quick.
