Tuna Burgers

From the kitchen of Robin Brandenburg

1 6oz. can of tuna, drained
½ cup chopped celery
2 Tblsp. chopped onion
1 cup cubed Velveeta cheese
½ cup Miracle Whip
Salt and pepper to taste
4 hamburger buns

Drain tuna and mix all ingredients. Place 2 tablespoons of mixture on a bun.
Wrap in aluminum foil and bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

I have made these without the celery and onion as one of our kids does not like those two ingredients. So I have substituted onion powder and omit the celery and it turns out like a
tuna melt on a bun.

I learned how to make these way back in 8th grade - when Home Ec. class was a requirement.
We had to come up with a complete meal plan and this was our main entrée. I could have
been the one who passed the Scotcheroo recipe around in the area as that was our dessert!

Terri’s notes:
~ I baked some in foil - soft, moist, really handy to prep ahead. But I also baked some on a
baking sheet - with the bun top face up next to the open faced sandwich. Bun top browned
just a bit, yummy too.
