Festive Cranberry Salsa

12-ounce bag fresh cranberries
1 jalapeno pepper, minced
1 cup sugar
1½ teaspoons cumin
¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
¼ cup red onion, chopped
Two 8-ounce bricks cream cheese

Chop cranberries in food processor. Add jalapeno, cilantro, sugar, cumin and chopped onion. Mix well.

Place an 8 ounce brick of cream cheese on a pretty plate and spoon sauce over cream cheese. Serve with crackers. (Makes 2)
 

Notes:
These little appetizers are so easy and so much fun! Have several trays or baskets of crackers arranged next to pretty combinations of cream cheese/spreads served up on holiday plates. Place around the room, near where people are visiting. The only requirement is a sweet/spicy combination of flavors….Bright green hot pepper jelly, red and golden fruit flavored chipotle sauces, salsa, or mix shrimp cocktail sauce with a well drained can of flaked crab and pour over cream cheese! Wheat Thins are the perfect little nibblers.
