5 lbs. of chicken legs and thighs, skin removed
1 cup ketchup
3/4 cup Oyster sauce
1 cup sugar
½ cup soy sauce
2 cloves garlic
Mix the sauces and spices together and pour over chicken. Can be made in a crockpot or in the oven - bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2- 2
hours, turning chicken every 1/2 hour.
Serve with rice.
Heather says she picked this recipe up while on a mission's trip in Hawaii back in 2000 and promises this dish will make you feel like you're in Hawaii! Good news in the midst of this cold Wisconsin weather! The extra sauce is really good spooned over the rice. Serve with some fresh or grilled pineapple and steamed broccoli.
Several recipes on-line suggest using wings in this recipe and I made it with some boneless, skinless, chicken breasts - just to test it. Cubed white meat would make it an easy serve over the rice. White meat strips, threaded on skewers would make great finger food too.
